Special shout out to Mike & Ike who kept us company throughout the game. The next pitcher of water is on me!

VT at Duke
Sitting at Byside at 9:20ish am, amongst a sea of Michigan fans, I was so very happy to be a Hokie. I know that we were playing Duke, and I know that we were supposed to win, but actually winning 45-0 didn't take away from the excitement of each play. The Hokies are a fun team to watch, no matter. I'd rather be 7th and winning to Duke, than 3rd and losing to Notre Dame. Right?

VT at NC State
I'm in Orlando, Florida for the first game of the season. I hope we'll do well, because if we don't, I might run over some old person in a Mickey mouse hat. =) I'm with my friend Jamie and we have decided that we are going to stay in and watch the game from home aka our resort hotel room. Her sisters have kindly taken the car to get dinner, and they come back loaded with goodies. They tell us to sit back and relax and watch the game. They proceed to make dinner and we are served just as the half time show is beginning. Their timing is absolutely impeccable. At this point I have already had a couple of screaming fits.... The game is too close for comfort for me, and I feel like I'm watching a scary movie at times. At least with the scary movie, they don't do replays. I'm on the edge of my seat (figuratively) the entire game. Actually, I am under a blanket, with a glass of wine in hand just delivered by one of the sisters. This is what it must be like be an old fashioned bloke, with a wifey. I kind of don't mind it, although I do mind setting women's rights back about 100 years.
I have not watched a game with Jamie in probably 6 years, and before then, we probably just went to kill some time in-between tailgates and before heading downtown. It was awesome sitting with her and thinking about school, and all our friends, and many funny college stories. No, I cannot reveal them in this venue...
See you guys next weekend!
Go Hokies!
